BHP
Billiton is the world’s largest diversified resources company
with more than 100 operations in approximately 20 countries.
They are a major world supplier of aluminium, energy coal and
metallurgical coal, copper, ferro-alloys, iron ore and titanium
minerals, and have substantial interests in oil, gas, liquefied
natural gas, nickel, diamonds and silver.
BHP Billiton aims to make a valuable contribution to their local
communities and has made a commitment to provide one per cent of
pre-tax profits on a rolling three year basis to community
programs, to help to create a healthy and sustainable social
fabric in these communities.

With 56,000 employees worldwide, Lucent Technologies is a
leading global supplier of communications networking equipment.
Lucent Technologies supported BYTE and BYTES Back and in late
2005 entered into an agreement to fund a further initiative with
The Foundation’s grant partner JOY Melbourne.

The Department of Family and Community Services
The Australian Government's Department of Families,
Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA) plays a
lead role in shaping and contributing to a broad range of
social policy issues affecting Australian society and the
well-being of Australian families, communities and
individuals. FaCSIA provides policies, income support and
assistance for families and their children, senior citizens,
people with disabilities, carers and community groups.
FaCSIA was a
co-investor in the On Track Leadership Project.

The Department of Education, Science and Training
The Department
of Education, Science and Training (DEST) provides national
leadership and works in collaboration with the States and
Territories, industry, other agencies and the community in
developing and implementing policies to ensure the continuing
relevance of education, science and training.
DEST is a
co-investor in the Indigenous Youth Leadership Programme, a
scholarship and leadership programme that commenced in late 2005
with scholarships being offered from 2006 to 2009.

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal
The Foundation
for Rural and Regional Renewal ("FRRR") is based on Australian,
US and UK models which encourage partnerships between rural and
regional communities, philanthropy, government and business to
fund and implement rural development projects aimed at
reinvigorating rural areas, especially where initiatives can
lead to new sources of economic wellbeing.
FRRR is a co-investor with The Foundation for Young Australians
and The Myer Foundation in the Youth Incentive Fund, which grew
out of the Youth Philanthropy Project, an initiative that
commenced in early 2003 with the aim of increasing the
participation of young Australians in philanthropy.

The International Youth Foundation
The
International Youth Foundation believes young people possess the
power to shape the future. To learn, work, thrive, and lead,
they need access to programs and resources that inspire and
challenge them. IYF is a global nonprofit organisation that
makes this possible.
Together, IYF and its partners build effective, sustainable, and
scaleable programs that positively impact the lives of young
people worldwide.
The Global Fund for Youth Development program, which is a joint
initiative of the Lucent Technologies Foundation and IYF,
supports the BYTE and BYTE’s Back projects.

The
Myer Foundation works to build a fair, just, creative and caring

in Australia and in relation to its regional setting.
