In
partnership with FaCSIA, The Foundation will offer a further opportunity to On Track
organisations that have demonstrated success in supporting young
people with their leadership development and implementation of
their On Track community project. The aim is to build on the
expertise, community networks and acceptance of youth led
involvement that has arisen via the On Track model existing in
communities. The opportunity would be given via a grant round,
with decisions made via a youth committee. Ongoing support
would be available to the 12 selected On Track organisations to
assist with implementation of their agreed projects.
The On Track Leadership Project was a national project
designed to enhance young people's leadership skills and
encourage commitment to the community. There were two parts to
On Track, the first being an ongoing training and development
opportunity for young people in 25 different communities across
Australia. The second part to On Track was the Brokerage
Bank funding opportunity.
The Brokerage Bank allowed young people to apply for
funds to deliver a community project, thus enhancing their
leadership skills. Young people who wished to apply to this Bank
needed to be between the ages of 18 - 24 and recently completed
a leadership program. The community project needed to benefit
the community in some way and did not necessarily have to focus on young people.
Additional Funding for the On Track Leadership Project is
now closed.
